Politics is an only child

Let's start this whole off by declaring the logic of removing all personal matters from the political scene. Abortion, religion, marriage and education, among other topics, should all have their rightful place among those of us who value our American heritage. but none of these belong in Washington DC. We need honest, unafilliated, capitalist leadership in the White House. And we need it now, more than ever before.

We are in the throes of a war the likes of which we have not seen before. We are as unprepared for this war as we have ever been in our two hundred eighteen year history. This is a war being fought without country, flag or military machine. It is being waged by covert, religious fanatics hiding in homes, houses of religion and civilian enclaves. We cannot win this war and thus continue our way of life without acknowledging the fact that we must persevere by any means possible. Collateral damage will, of necessity, be an integral part of this fight as it is being waged by our enemy. Pussyfooting around enemy combatants plays into their hands and ties ours. We must pull out all the politically correct stops and get to the heart of this thing or lose it, together with all we hold dear and sacred.

We as a nation and a people cannot survive if we continue down a path of trying to put our best friend or a cultural icon into the office of the Presidency. Instead of looking for someone we might elect head of our Church or our Garden Club, or be suitable as our next dinner guest, we should be looking for someone who has the foresight and leadership capabilities to keep this nation solvent and in front of an enemy who is bent on our destruction.

Our elected leaders have a sworn duty first and foremost to protect the citizens of this country. How they intend going about this is the only criteria that matters as we begin another presidential selection process. How a candidate worships; how he/she feels about private matters, or what, or even if, he believes as we do, is not a part of the battle in which we are engaged. We need someone who is ready and willing to fight for our country and its citizens, irrespective of his/her personal beliefs. This so that we all can continue following our own paths and our own private lives, coupled with our own personal belief systems.

Let us then get to the heart of the presidential nominating process and select someone who will be able to help us preserve the things we hold dear. There will be nothing left for us to preserve if we are to end up on the losing side of this war of civilizations. We can either battlle this thing to victory or flop around today searching for the "perfect" candidate who thinks like us, but who acts like a wimp. And who loses our country to the politcally correct.

It is time to fight, not for how our President conducts his private life, but how he protects our very way of life. Victory is in strength, not in day dreaming. We should look for our cultural heroes in our towns and clubs and schools, not in our government, which is charged with other matters and is paid to do a job that is, by Constitutional decree, removed from the private sector.

If we are to preserve our religious freedom and all our other freedoms, we must keep our country intact, and we can only do this if we win against all enemies we face by military might, not by idle discussions with the fanatical. So let's find a candidate for the top job and get him/her into office, or end up losing everything.
